hand dyed silk FAQs

FAQs

How is it made?

I hand dye silk using natural dyes, or hand paint the silk on a frame and then turn it into ribbons and table runners.  This gives it a natural variation in depth of colour. I also use my own watercolours and pencil drawings to create unique prints, these can be used on ribbons, backdrops and as wedding dress fabrics. I also accept commissions.

How much does it cost?

For standard orders the prices are as those listed in the shop. Bespoke ribbon colours can be ordered at no extra cost, but a minimum order of one bundle (16m) is required for floristry bundles, and 20m of anything priced in my shop per metre (including all stationery ribbon). Table runners are as priced in the shop – bespoke dimensions are available on request.

Bespoke options

Please contact me for a quote for variations seen on any of my shop items.

Please note due to the hand made nature of all my fabrics some variation will occur between batches. It is best to order everything you might need for a project in one go for this reason.

Wholesale prices are available for orders over 50m.

Where else can I buy them?

My ribbons are stocked in Acacia Floristry in Malmesbury and in the Fine Art Wedding Boutique.

  1. Hi..I am getting married on the 13th July 2017 and I am looking for a florist bundle for mine and 4 bridesmaids. Do you have a nude bundle in stock? Or a pink bundle?
Also would a florist bundle be enough for that many bouquets?
    Best wishes
    Carley

  2. Hi Carley – I can do you these colours in mixed silk types in time (just order habotai silk type at the checkout). I would probably go for two bundles, unless you’re just looking for a couple of trails each, in which case one would be fine. Alternatively you can purchase my bias cut habotai silk ribbons in oyster, peach and blush (stock availability is indicated on each). Please bear in mind I am only shipping until Thursday this week due to holiday. Best wishes, Kate
