Kate has over a decade of experience working in the creative and wedding industries, building a solid portfolio of published work that has been much admired from around the globe, including styling real weddings, editorials, look books and product shoots for her clients, coaching other creative entrepreneurs, and most recently partnering with Laura E Patrick on branding for creative businesses. Who is it for?

This course is for creative entrepreneurs that need an easy to follow path to creating your own visual brand identity, from how to choose a logo, colour palette and ‘look’, to then how to convey this on your website, social media and printed marketing materials. The course covers service and product based creative business models. It doesn’t matter whether you are about to launch or relaunch, or are just looking for some guidance on how to create a better identity for an existing business, the course will help you find the right path.

What do I learn?

  1. Finding your own unique style. How to go about it and then translate that into your visuals.
  2. The difference between a logo and branding and understanding how these work for you. How to choose a logo. How to work with a branding agency to achieve the best results versus how to do it yourself if finances are tight.
  3. How to choose your colour palette, and how and where to use it on your website and printed materials.
  4. How to convey mood, purpose and ethos in your brand visuals.
  5. Social Media – how to define your own brand style for Instagram and other platforms.

Kate will deliver the 5 modules in a combination of 1 hour live webinars where you can ask questions and get one-on-one help and advice, followed by a set task worksheet based on the webinar’s content. Each step is designed to enable you to launch or relaunch your business with a strong visual identity in place that attracts clients to you. There will be a dedicated Facebook Group for the course students where you will present your work for help and critique from Kate and your fellow students.

Structure

The course is held weekly for 5 weeks. The webinars are held on Thursdays at 8pm. Questions are encouraged at the end of each live presentation. If you cannot make a live session, it will be available on playback and you will still be able to ask questions via the Facebook Group. You then have the week to complete the coursework and present it in the Facebook Group.

It starts on Thursday 24th September when access is given to the first week’s webinar and worksheet. I estimate the worksheet exercises will take you approximately 1-2 hours each week.

All students have access to the private dedicated Facebook Group to allow students to support and encourage each other; as well as a place to ask questions on the course content as you go.

After the course has finished you will retain access to the group for ongoing support from your fellow students.

Investment

The full course is £45 for early birds before 24th August. After 24th August the full course price will be £95.
