It was the month of may
“It was the month of May, the month when the foliage of herbs and trees is most freshly green, when buds ripened, and blossoms appear in their fragrance and loveliness. And the month when lovers, subject to the same force which reawakens the plants, feel their hearts open again, recall past trysts and past vows, and moments of tenderness, and yearn for a renewal of the magical awareness which is love.” – Sir Thomas Malory
The concept behind the shoot was the celebration of a May wedding, focusing on country house garden wedding. The shoot focused on two main elements – that of the bride and her bridesmaids, and a small, intimate ceremony set up using wooden chairs and vintage sofa/chairs.
The theme and mood was one of relaxed, light and airy pastels, with an abundance of loose country garden florals – pinks, peaches, lilacs, soft yellows, creams and delicate trailing foliage.
Whilst the focus will be the garden setting, interior images of the bride and her bridesmaids getting ready also formed part of the day. Looking at the relationship between these women on such a special occasion.
